Black Mountain Strong: A message from the Black Mountain Police department, Town officials, and staff
Helene was one of deadliest and most destructive hurricanes in United States history. Everywhere it left grief in its wake. But even in those darkest moments, extraordinary acts of bravery, kindness, and compassion were taking place throughout Black Mountain. Today, that same spirit drives our recovery efforts.
A MESSAGE FROM THE TOWN OF BLACK MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA
The Black Mountain Police Department and the Town of Black Mountain would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who assisted us in the aftermath of Tropical Storm Helene.
Words cannot adequately express our gratitude. The countless hours and sacrifices made by those who helped us are a debt that can never be repaid. The devastation affecting Western North Carolina will take years to recover from. The loss of life and property is unimaginable, and the grief shared by all communities is profound.
The support received from other departments, businesses, non-profits, individuals, and countless volunteers helped us bring our beautiful mountain town back online.
While there is still much work to be done, our downtown area is open and welcoming visitors. The collective efforts of everyone helped us reach this milestone. This is what makes us Black Mountain Strong!
