The Town of Black Mountain is under a Boil Water Notice for all Town of Black Mountain water customers. IT IS REQUIRED FOR CUSTOMERS TO VIGOROUSLY BOIL TAP WATER FOR ONE (1) MINUTE BEFORE CONSUMING IT. CLICK HERE for more information.

Are you without power or water?

Most homes and businesses in Black Mountain now have water and electricity. If you are still without power, Duke Energy asks that you text O-U-T to 57801. If you don’t yet have water, contact the Town Water Administration at 828-419-9313. Visit our FAQs for more details.

Trash & Recycling pick-up resumes Oct. 21

Residential and commercial trash/recycling pickup in Black Mountain resumes its regular schedule on Monday, October 21 with some exceptions. CLICK HERE for more information.

Buncombe County Schools reopen Oct. 25

Free Q&A on streambank restoration, 10am-2pm on Oct. 24

Mitchell Anderson from the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Asheville Regulatory Field Office will be in Town Square to offer streambank repair recommendations and explain permitting processes. CLICK HERE for more information.

Sign up for supplies via the BMT Volunteer Corps needs assessment survey by Oct. 30

BMT Volunteer Corp is inviting all residents of Black Mountain, Swannanoa Valley, and other local areas to request assistance through an online household needs assessment. Town of Black Mountain suspends permit fees

Property owners seeking to rebuild on their property in Black Mountain will not have to pay any permitting fees to do so. The Town of Black Mountain has suspended all permitting FEES through June 30, 2025. Property owners must still apply for and get the necessary building permit(s) and required inspections. The permitting process and fee waiver applies to:

  • Residential

  • Commercial

  • Trade

  • Land disturbance

  • Floodplain

Through CodeRED, you'll receive notices directly from Town officials about emergency conditions, road detours, water line breaks, weather-related directives, closures, and other service-related information. You can choose to receive information through phone calls, text messages, emails and/or social media.

    Notify Me allows you to receive notices from the individual Town of Black Mountain departments of your choosing. For instance, you can sign up for news flashes, departmental updates, bid postings, job openings, and messages from Town Council, Commissions, and Boards.
