Early Voting and General Election Information

Early Voting: October 17 - November 2
Early voting in the 2024 General Election runs from October 17 through November 2. Early voting hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily between Oct. 17-Nov. 1, and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Nov. 2. There is one location in Black Mountain where you can cast your ballot during the early voting period:
Black Mountain Library, 105 N. Dougherty Street, Black Mountain

Election Day: Tuesday, November 5
Helene’s destruction required the Buncombe County Board of Elections to replace or relocate 17 of their 80 voting sites for election day in 2024, including several in Black Mountain. Click here to read more about how the County determined these changes.
These are the voting sites in Black Mountain on November 5:
If you live in Precinct 33.2 and are accustomed to voting at the Black Mountain Primary School, your temporary polling location on Nov. 5 is the Black Mountain Library, 105 N. Dougherty Street in Black Mountain.
If you live in Precinct 33.3 and are accustomed to voting at the Black Mountain Elementary School, there is no change in your polling location on Nov. 5. The Black Mountain Elementary School is located at 150 Flat Creek Rd in Black Mountain.
If you live in Precincts 34.1 or 35.1 and are accustomed to voting at either the Lakeview Center or the Black Mountain Montessori School, your temporary polling location on Nov. 5 is the St. James Episcopal Church, 424 W. State Street in Black Mountain.
If you live in Precinct 36.1 and are accustomed to voting at the First Baptist Church in Black Mountain, your temporary polling location on Nov. 5 is the Ridgecrest Conference Center, 1 Ridgecrest Drive in Black Mountain.
If you live in Precinct 37.1 and are accustomed to voting at the Garren Creek Fire Department in Fairview, your temporary polling location on Nov. 5 is the located at the Temporary Polling Station, 1722 NC 9 Hwy in Black Mountain.

You must be registered to vote in order to vote.
You can same-day register during the early voting period.
